Haiku Project – Theatre at Southeastern and the department of English, Humanities and Languages collaborate on this annual performance art project.
Poets Coffee House – Poets and poetry lovers are invited to enjoy coffee, snacks and poetry in a relaxed supportive atmosphere. Write your own poetry… come read it. Have a favorite poem… come share it. Just like to listen… come do that, too.
24 Hour Play & Film Festival – student directors, filmmakers, playwrights, and screen writers will get their prompt to create original plays and films that must be presented the next night to the public. A co-production of the departments of Art, Communication & Theatre; and English, Humanities & Languages.
Forensic Forum- Forensics Forum is the celebration of the renaissance of intercollegiate competitive speech and debate at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. SE Okies from the Southeastern Speech and Debate Association (SSDA) will describe and offer demonstrations of multiple competitive American Forensic Association National Individual Event Tournament (AFA-NIET) speeches and performances. In addition, SE Okies will demonstrate a competitive individual debate round of International Public Debate Association (IPDA), the fastest growing interscholastic debate association in the U.S. Forensics Forum will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 15 in the Visual Performing Arts Center (VPAC). Light refreshments will also be served.
Kaleidoscope Project– Students from the Department of Art, Communication & Theatre- and the department of Music will collaborate to present a collage evening of music, video, dance and oral interpretation. This 20-minute presentation will surely be thought provoking.
Short Films Premiere – 2 short films made this year will be shared with the public. Family Rating PG.
Take Five: The Movie Premiere – ACT presents its full-length film. Running time: 1 hour, 40 minutes. Family Rating R
Savage Storm City presents Improvapalooza! – The Acting – Improvisation class will be performing games and a “Harold” at 10:00 pm Tuesday, April 14 in the Playhouse as part of Dramapalooza at SE. Who is “Harold”? It’s not “who”, but “what”! A “Harold” is a long-form improv created at the famed Second City in Chicago by Del Shores and his students. Curious? We thought so…see you there! (Oh…and it’s FREE!)
