DURANT, Okla. – The Southeastern Oklahoma State University Department of Music will present a recital featuring faculty performers on Sunday, February 23, at 3 p.m. in the Fine Arts Recital Hall.
The recital will include solo and chamber pieces by Mozart, Schubert, Schumann, Spohr, Turrin, and others, and the premiere of a new work by faculty composer Joshua Harris.
The faculty includes acclaimed performers with diverse backgrounds and experience, many of whom perform nationally and internationally, have won major competitions, and have recorded with noteworthy ensembles.
Collaborative pianists Ekaterina Chernaya-Oh and Charlie Kim will join colleagues Carlos Feller, who specializes in both baroque and modern flute; symphonic and chamber music specialists Michael Scheuerman, clarinet, Brandon Stewart, horn, and Ben Shaffer, trumpet; and Elizabeth Johnson Knight, mezzo soprano soloist and chorister.
Director of Bands Jacob Wallace will collaborate on clarinet with soprano Sylvia Rivers. Tristan Eggener, a versatile performer who teaches tuba and directs the jazz program, will perform on bass with bass-baritone Jeremy Blackwood.
There is no admission charge.
