About Dr. Stacy Weger
Dr. Stacy Weger, Director of Choral Activities, serving as director of the Southeastern Chorale, Symphonic Choir, and Cat 5, SOSU’s newly formed vocal jazz group. His other duties include teaching secondary vocal methods and conducting, and serving as faculty advisor for the student MENC collegiate chapter. Additionally he serves as Director of the Oklahoma Shakespeare Festival’s Renaissance Singers. Dr. Weger received his B.M.E. and M.M.E., from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS, and his D.M.A. in Choral Conducting from the University of Texas at Austin. He has previously taught at University of Texas, Texas State University, and the public schools of Forest and Natchez, Mississippi. He formerly served as Artistic Director/Conductor of the Austin Boys Choir, and as Symphonic Choir manger for New Texas Music Works. He is currently a member of ACDA, MENC, OMEA, and OCDA.
Dr. Weger currently serves as the College/University Representative for the Oklahoma Choral Directors Association, and as Vice President for Higher Education for the Oklahoma Music Educators Association. He previously served as state ACDA president for Mississippi, as President-elect and high school chair for Mississippi Music Educators Association, and served as director of the Lakeshore Choral Music Camp.
