The Southeastern Music Department will be presenting the first annual Southeastern Invitational Band Clinic with our special guest clinician: Dr. John Lynch, Professor of Music and Director of Bands at the Hugh Hodgson School of Music at The University of Georgia. Dr. Lynch is an internationally renowned conductor, musician, and educator, and he will be bringing his talents to our campus to work with our students and the students of several regional schools who will be bringing their students to our campus. While Dr. Lynch presents clinics with the invited bands in historic Montgomery Auditorium, Southeastern music faculty will be presenting masterclasses for various instruments in the Glen D. Johnson Student Union Building and the General Classroom Building. The day will culminate with a finale concert at 6:00 pm that will feature all the invited bands and Dr. Lynch as guest conductor with The Southeastern Symphonic Winds. All events as part of the Clinic are free and open to the public.
We would like to extend our most sincere thanks to Southeastern’s Cultural Scholarship and Lectureship Fund Committee, whose most generous support has permitted this unique workshop to be possible.
