Administrative/Internet Systems Programmer

 

JOB SUMMARY:   The employee’s primary responsibility is the support, modifications, and development of administrative application software on the administrative servers.  The employee will evaluate user requirements and implement solutions.  This position will report to the Director of Administrative Computing.  This is a full time position at the Durant campus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1.      Supports all Administrative Data systems, with a primary focus on:  Admissions, Financial Aid, Registration, Human Resources, Online Web Interfaces, and various reporting processes.
  2.  Support all POISE and related administrative software.
  3.  Assist end users with POISE, OpenVMS, and database development on the administrative servers.
  4. Application Development, Programming and Documentation of Data Base Management Systems (DMS) Applications using OpenVMS Basic, DMS Batch Procedures and other various programming languages.
  5.  Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues related to accessing the administrative POISE system(s).
  6.      Generate Annual Financial Aid Reports.
  7.     Other duties relevant to the responsibilities performed by the Department of Administrative Computing.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related), or significant relevant work experience.  Excellent communication, programming and analytical skills; ability to establish interoperability among diverse systems.

PREFERRED:

Experience in Higher Education, information security, and general database experience (e.g. SQL, MySql). An understanding of PCI compliance and accessibility compliance requirements (Section 508 and OK HB 2197).  Mastery of OpenVMS, Basic Programming, DMS, POISE, Web programming languages and techniques.
