International Graduate Student Information

Deadlines for international students coming from out of the country:
Fall Semester-June 1; Spring Semester-November 1; and Summer Semester-April 1

Please complete, sign and return your Application for Admission (BE SURE TO INDICATE A MAJOR) along with the following documents:

  1. Statement of Understanding – Must be signed and dated. Must be original (no copies, emails, or faxes). The Statement of Understanding is included in this packet.
  2. Affidavit of Support – Must be completed and signed/dated by sponsor and bank/financial institution official.   Must be original (no copies, emails, or faxes). The Affidavit of Support is included in this packet.
  3. Affidavit of Support Dependent – Must be completed if you are married or have children. Needs to be signed/dated by sponsor and bank/financial institution official. Must be original (no copies, emails, or faxes). The Affidavit of Support Dependent is included in this packet.
  4. Financial Statement – Statement from bank or other financial institution in which the sponsor has deposits giving the following details regarding the sponsor’s account: date account opened; total amount deposited for the past year; and present balance. Must be presented in English and US dollars. Valid for six (6) months from semester of acceptance. Must be original (no copies, emails, or faxes). The Financial Statement will need to be obtained from the financial institution.
  5. TOEFL/IELTS Scores – official TOEFL/IELTS scores must be sent directly to Southeastern from the testing center (scores are valid for two (2) years). Must be original (no copies, emails or faxes).  The required TOEFL score is at least 550 paper / 213 computer / 79 internet or the required IELTS Examination score is at least 6.5.  Students may also be admitted by scoring at least 500 paper/173 computer or higher on the TOEFL, or 5.5 or higher on the IELTS Examination and successfully completing a minimum of  12 weeks of study at an Individualized Education Program approved by the Oklahoma State Regents. Scores must be sent directly to Southeastern from the testing center and are valid for two (2) years from date of acceptance.
  6. GRE or GMAT Scores – Students wishing to enter the Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or  Master of Education in School Counseling programs need GRE scores; Students wishing to enter the Master of Business Administration program need GMAT scores. Scores must be sent directly to Southeastern from the Testing Center (scores valid for two (2) years). Must be original (no copies, emails, or faxes).
  7. Official Transcripts – Need official English-transcripts of any previous college work. Transcripts must bear the official school seal. Any college/university attended (in or outside the United States) must be indicated on the application form. Must be original (no copies, emails, or faxes).
  8. Transcript Evaluations – Transcripts and credentials from outside the United States must be analyzed by an educational credential evaluation service approved by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). For a list of current members, visit their website at www.naces.org. You may contact these evaluators at your convenience by mail/ telephone/internet at the locations provided for necessary forms or information regarding fees and time lines of evaluations.
  9. Advisor’s report (required only if you have attended or are attending a U.S. educational institution) – Must be completed by the last college/university/educational institution you attended in the United States. Must be mailed directly from the US college/university to Southeastern. Must be original (no copies, emails, or faxes). The Advisor’s Report is included in this packet.
  10. Two (2) small passport type photographs – with applicant’s signature on the back.
  11. $55.00 (US dollars) Non-refundable Application Fee – applies to one (1) semester of acceptance.
  12. Foreign address – SEVIS requirements include a foreign (home country) address before an I20 will be issued.
