Welcome to the Southeastern Oklahoma State University Clinical Mental Health Counseling Master’s Degree Program: The faculty and staff of the Department of Behavioral Sciences at SOSU welcome you to the Master of Arts Degree Program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. This degree program is designed to prepare professional counselors for the pre-master’s educational and clinical training requirements of the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license offered through the Oklahoma State Department of Health. Training in the CMHC Master’s Degree Program is rigorous, structured, and constantly evolving to address the needs of mental health clients in today’s society. Counselor Education faculty members in the Southeastern CMHC Program are dedicated to preparing high quality graduates to work in public and private sectors of the mental health community.

The goal of this training program is to afford students the training and skills necessary to become competent, professional, and ethical in the delivery of Clinical Mental Health Counseling services. The program is based on the wellness model of mental health service delivery and prepares graduates to act in the best interest of the clients and general public they serve. By having access to cutting edge educational experiences, skilled clinical supervision, and a rigorous and nationally recognized academic program of study, students are afforded the opportunity to acquire a comprehensive body of knowledge, professional skills, ethical foundations, and cultural competencies.
